You will never find a dull moment in Buenos Aires. This place might be one of my favorite cities I've ever visited. The charming cafes, local wine, picturesque streets, the FOOD! Get lost in this seductive city- you will not be disappointed. Read more for my go-to places to see and eat here.
Buenos Aires is full of amazing activities. From the history buff, to the art critic, to the wine connoisseur, you'll find everything you need and more.
-Botanical Gardens. This oasis in the middle of the city is truly a fairytale. We loved getting lost in the maze of trails, flowers, and statues. My tip: find the greenhouse for stunning pictures!
-Palermo. This trendy neighborhood is filled with irresistible cafes, funky bars, and gorgeous streets. Also, it makes the perfect hub for your trip! We booked our AirBnB here, and so should you.
-La Boca. A neighborhood famous for tango, color, and history. Walk the streets of Caminito and you'll be immersed in a vibrancy of painted buildings, music, dance, and art abounding. Don't wander too far outside of the main streets for the best (and safest) experience.
-Casa Rosada. If you know anything about Eva Peron (or Evita), then you'll recognize this historic building. The beautiful pink façade (and the surrounding plaza) hold a rich history. The building currently exists as the seat of the Argentine Governement.
Eating and drinking might be (no, it definitely is) one of the best parts of Argentina. The food here is impeccable, and the wine is AMAZING. Trust me when I say meal time will be your favorite time of your vacation. Here's my list of things to eat in Buenos Aires!
-Empanadas. These are a staple in Argentina. You can't visit without trying one! Or you can eat them for every meal like us. No judgement.
-Steak. Argentina is famous for it's steak, and for good reason too. I don't eat much red meat, but the steak I had in BA might just convert me for life.
-Alfajores. These tasty little treats are like a dulce de leche cookie. Try them now, and thank me later.
-Wine. We fell in love with the wine here (and took multiple bottles home). The best part of our day was spent sipping wine on a patio in Palermo. Malbecs are juicy, flavorful, and go with every meal.
-Ice Cream. Surprisingly, the ice cream here is out of this world! You won't be disappointed.
With delightful cafes on every block, it's nearly impossible to choose a bad restaurant in Buenos Aires. Here's a quick rundown of my favorite spots!
-Cabernet. We found this lovely cafe in Palermo because we fell in love with the mural outside. The patio is dreamy, and the wine is even better.
-Don Julio. We splurged and went to one of the most famous restaurants in Buenos Aires. The wait was long, but don't worry too much about it- they bring you free champagne and empanadas in line. And the steak is definitely worth it.
-Bar du Marche. The perfect spot for lunch! This cafe is in the heart of Palermo Hollywood, with delicious wine and lunch specials.
-Oui Oui Cafe. A cute little brunch spot in Palermo. Drink coffee, eat pastries, and start your morning off right.
-Iceland. This ice cream shop is super tasty and affordable! There are multiple locations around the city.
-Café Tortoni. Another iconic spot. This restaurant is famous for live tango performances. It's a french-style restaurant, and maybe a little over priced. But our food was delicious, so no serious complaints here!
-Uptown & the Bronx. This one might be the most fun on the list! A speakeasy in Palermo with a hidden "subway" entrance. If you want to go out, this is the place to be.
This place is stunning! With so many trails and walking paths, you can easily get lost in here for an afternoon. This greenhouse was our favorite part of the complex. Picturesque, peaceful, and beautiful. We loved taking pictures here!
Easily my favorite thing to do in Buenos Aires is to eat and drink! We were surprised by how many instagram-worthy restaurants there were! Buy a bottle of wine to share, order some empanadas, and enjoy a lovely meal with your travel companions.
Buenos Aires is full of history- and we didn't know much about it! After visiting the Casa Rosada, we decided to learn more and visit the Eva Peron museum. This intricate mansion is filled with artifacts, ornate decorations, and stunning dresses.
